(Before I start, a word of apology about my terrible photography. I'm no professional, but the way I'm uploading to Blogger seems to make things look even worse thank the already-bad originals. I'll try to continue making up for the visual mediocrity with entertaining writing.)
Moving right along...
It can make for the best of days, and it can make for the worst of days. The latter being pretty much any day when there's no school and seemingly every Melburnian under 12 years of age is there, and definitely every single one is screaming. Yesterday, however, was a fine example of the former - one of the "best of days".
Why? Let me show you.

Do you see that? Totally empty. Abe's school was out for a teacher training day, but every other school/kindergarden in the area was still in session, so no competition. It was a blast. We took Abe's bestie and they had complete run of the place until two other kids from their class showed up two hours later.

But of course, the brothers had plenty of playtime together as well.

Thank you, Melbourne, for having indoor play places like this. You will be my salvation come the mid-winter term break.

if we had one of those, we'd be there every day
Yeah, but did you see the prices?? If money were no object, I'd be there every day, too. Unfortunately, we have to save it for the days when I am sure I am not going to be able to cope with being stuck in the house all day. The rest of the time, it's the mall, and sadly, Abe's too old to play on any of that equipment. But yeah - these indoor play places are awesome, and very popular here.
