That's not a lemon... that's a lemon.

Growing up, one of the most popular movies at the Fairbanks house was Crocodile Dundee, a film about an Australian bushman in New York. During one scene, some hoodlums try to mug Mick Dundee at knifepoint. "Just give him your wallet" suggests his companion. "Why should I?" Mick asks. "He's got a knife." Then, actor Paul Hogan delivers the line for which he is arguably most remembered, "That's not a knife..." unsheathing his own blade that makes Rambo's look like a vegetable peeler "THAT's a knife."

It is a scene that will live in immortality and in no way diminished by multiple Simpson's parodies.

I could find this one only in Spanish, but you get the point.

I found myself thinking about the (original) scene when the lemons on our small potted lemon tree ripened. I was so excited to pick those beautiful lemons and felt some pride in the literal fruit of my labor.

Then our neighbor, whose first name is, coincidentally, the same as Crocodile Dundee's, came over to our house and dropped off some lemons from his tree. It's as if I could hear him, in his Australian accent, ridiculing my little (normal-sized) fruit, "That's not a lemon. THAT's a lemon." In the photo below, my fruit is on the right and Mick's is on the left.

He also gave us some kiwi.

I love that scene. "Just some kids havin' fun."
And I was going to say that while his are quite impressive in size, your lemons look healthier (they are yellow not whitish).
..And wow, to grow your own kiwis!

Isn't that cool, Marisa? The same neighbors have an almond tree, a lime tree, and a mandarin tree. People around here have grapefruit, orange, olive, avocado, and pomegranate trees as well. I think Ben's is the prettier lemon, too.

I keep thinking about that famous bidet scene from C. Dundee.
Something about cleaning your backside?
Cute story!

Haha, I need to see that movie again - this post was written by Ben (he forgot to log me out), and I've only seen it once, a looooong time ago. I honestly can't remember a thing about it.
